1. Petroleum-Based Products

Petroleum-based products are among the most common when it comes to finding a product for the vehicle. Especially, tire polishes often have a petroleum base as it is necessary to incorporate a set of strong and important chemicals. When this option is applied incorrectly, certain damage can easily appear on the tire.

Here, a petroleum base is not required to make up the formula of these products. However, other options contain petroleum solvents when it comes to a solvent-based product. Each of these options may offer a different result. Either way, in no case, are tires harmed if each of these products is applied correctly.

3. Reasons For Tire Deterioration

In most cases, tires begin to deteriorate due to a wide variety of factors. However, a tire polish is usually not one of those factors when applied correctly. Tires are brown when the antiozonant substance reaches the surface. This layer is deep in the tire and approaches the surface as the service life progresses.

However, this is a problem that can be solved simply with a few washes and specific products. Therefore, it is not a very serious problem that implies the replacement of the tires. However, as we have mentioned, this happens when the tire is reaching its full-service life. So, it might take a little while to replace all four tires.

On many occasions, the tire may contain trapped dirt and that is what generates the brown appearance. So, this can easily occur when the vehicle is not driven frequently and proper cleaning is not applied. When a silicone-based product is dry, dirt and dust can easily adhere.

This can create a very sticky surface that allows dust and dirt to adhere without too much effort. Here, proper cleaning should be applied to the tires every reasonable amount of time. Some people may also decide to implement a water-based dressing when dealing with a very dusty area.
